Documentary, Interview and News Crew

One size does not fit all, nor does one camera operator fit all

Shooting a documentary or interview can be challenging if you don’t have the right people in place.  If a talent feels uncomfortable, it will show in the production.  And capturing late breaking news as it happens?  This also takes a very specialized and experienced operator to get it right.  CrewAtlanta is the ONLY production company in Georgia that tailors production crew to match your specific need.  Ours is a company built on friendships and allies found during our years in the Atlanta broadcast production community.  Our extended roster of A- list talent allows us to give you the perfect dream team every time..  On any given day and in any given environment rest assured that you will have the right people in place to get the job done, and in the environment that it needs to be done in.

Today we may shoot a day in the life of a well-known celebrity in the music industry.  Tomorrow we may cover a crime victim who is telling their story for the first time.  The next day we’re with a CEO and employees who are expressing why they believe so greatly in the product they manufacture.  These three productions offer very different environments for a production crew to step into.  That’s where our expertise comes in.  We take skill and expertise in mind as well as the individual personalities of our crew members.  When you call us to book your crew, we consider everything involved and deliver to your doorstep the perfect team to complement the environment you need.  From celebrities to life stories to CEO statements and testimonials, we will tailor the crew members to assure you walk away with a winning interview.

The art of capturing the moment in its true environment

A documentary can be high-energy or low energy and anywhere in between.  We know that one crew does not fit all.  When we were contacted to provide an intimate 2-person crew for a visiting producer who would be interviewing a crime victim’s close friend, we knew that the camera operator and sound operator we assigned to this production would have to be an almost invisible presence so as not to alter the environment desired by the producer.

When we we were asked to provide a production team to follow a visiting celebrity and shoot a “day in the life” at various stops throughout Atlanta, we assigned our more outgoing personalities – a group that would be enjoyable for the producer to work with, and have the confidence and camaraderie to work unsupervised should the producer have his hands full.

When working with inexperienced or new producers we assign a DP-level camera operator – someone who can work with little direction, who can guide the producer and suggest the best shooting style.  They’ll explain co0nti and helping them see the final product.

As you can see, one size simply doesn’t fit all.  This is never more true than in the unscripted world of documentary-style video.

Award-winning news crews with a global presence

We’re fortunate to have worked with some of the best known news organizations in the United States and abroad.  From press conferences to tracking escaped convicts, it’s all in a days work.  It takes a special kind of camera operator to put in the kind of tough labor that is required of chasing a news story.  Still, all of our operators would agree that nothing is more satisfying than knowing that you just captured a moment that will go down in history.  Let us make history with you!
